“I tell you, now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2)

There are many phrases that use the word “time”………….

“A stitch in time, saves nine”   -   “a race against time”

“in the fullness of time”  -  “time flies when you’re having fun”

“in the right place, at the right time”  -  “making up for lost time”

And  I’m sure you can think of loads more…………..

Time is a very precious gift from God, we all have “an allotted time” as the Psalmist reminds us – “all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139 v 16)

God knows the beginning and the end, and promises to walk with us through this amazing and exciting journey of life.

So…….. as we end yet another year (they are definitely going quicker!), and start another – what will 2016 hold for you and me?   We don’t really know, but the great news is that God knows and we can be assured of his presence with us, through the joys and through the sorrows.

Many times in the Bible we read about this urgency of sharing the Good News of the gospel, because TIME is running out – we are nearer the return of Jesus today than we were yesterday!

And so I urge you to take every opportunity to tell about our faith in Christ and the difference he makes.  We cannot rewind the clock and go back and fix the mistakes or missed opportunities of yesterday, but we can resolve to do our very best for God today and tomorrow…..

May 2016 be a year of blessing for you and for his church in Hawick.
